The Hypernauts seek the help of the Sacul to get revenge for what has been done to Kulai. They give the Hypernauts tools that, when put together, have the power of a star. The Hypernauts enter a fortress (the largest ship/station of the Triiad of which there are only three). Inside they find that the Triiad is formed by only three aliens who feel other life forms are unclean and must be eliminated. During a battle with Paiyin, the Hypernauts activate the Sacul weapon and escape. They destroy the fortress and all the ships around it. Paiyin escapes as well.
Later, Max, with the aid of a telepath, helps Kulai to wake from her sleep.
