The HYPERNAUTS universe is filled with many technical terms. This dictionary should help you navigate through these terms.

AI (Aritificial Intelligence) - machine that is capable of thinking as though it possesed a human-like intelligence.

Caduceus - "the staff carried by Mercury as messenger of the gods. It's used as an emblem of the medical profession and as the insignia of the U.S. Army Medical Corps."

Caduceus Enclave - group of people dedicated to bettering human life through medical advancement; insists on remaining isolationist and refuses to have anything to do with alien contact.

CGI (Computer Generated Image) - Three dimensional images created by computers that create the special effects for shows like HYPERNAUTS.

Chalim - honorary title for the most important member of the Pyran race. For more information, click here.

Flap Jack - name given to the exploration ship of the Hypernauts.

Gloose - Three legged animal. For more information, click here.

Horton - The Star Ranger's on board AI (see definition above). He is used to control and monitor the systems of the ship.

Hyper bubble - a sphere of energy used by the Academy of Galactic Exploration that allows ships to travel at faster than light speeds.

Maker - Triiad factory ship that breaks planets and asteroids down into their base elements and uses the raw materials to build new Triiad weapons.

Mechsuit - a tool used by the Academy of Galactic Exploration to aid in gathering materials and doing maintenance. For more information, click here.

Pyrani - the predominant language of Pyrus. For more information, click here.

Pyrus - Planet destroyed by the Triiad. Kulai's home planet.

Scragger - unmanned attack/guard ships used by the Triiad; because the Triiad does not trust intelligent machines, scraggers are little more than mindless weapons with sensors.

Sphere of Interception - energy field generated by millions of Triiad ships. The field is used to detect anything that passes through it; nothing can pass through the sphere without being detected.
