"Sharkey" is a gifted computer hacker. He hacked into the mainframe of the Academy and for his actions was sent on the discipline mission that stranded the three HYPERNAUTS.

As a child, Sharkey was injured in an accident that killed his parents. After the accident he spent some time recovering from the accident at the Caduceus Enclave. From there he joined the Academy of Galactic Exploration.

The accident has left Sharkey with claustrophobia...the fear of enclosed or confined places.
